Completed an ultra-quick paint job for the inside "cockpit" area. I used this term on track-link.net and was promptly corrected. The area where the coal man and the engineer controlled the locomotive is called the "footplate". Now I know. Also found out that the Deutsch Reichsbahn kept their trains spotlessly clean on the inside. The interior will only be seen through the tiny windows. So not much quest for painting perfection needed.
Got the lower chasis and the round tube part (you know the chamber where the steam works its magic) put together.? Boiler? Anyway this Trumpeter kit (my first) is a bit rough. Lots of filling and sanding. Spent about an hour trying to get the seams out of the boiler tube. Great subject matter but the kit quality is a bit rough compared to Dragon or Tamiya.
