Tiger II and Tiger I // Oil Wash

Proceeded with an overall oil wash. This gives dimension by filling any low points with dark pigment while the high points get mostly thinned wash and eventually evaporate. It is good to bring out the depth and relief of the zimmerit coating. (see picture of this post) Turpentine, Burnt Siena, and Ivory Black all combined and washed over all of the surfaces with a brush. I concentrated on panel lines, holes rivets etc. I also did several small streaks/ filters using pin points of oil paint dragged across a slightly wet surface with a dry brush. This not only tones the camo contrast down and adds a weathered look but it is good for streaking effects as well.
