Started this project last week. The most complex build yet. Tons of parts. A really well done kit. The claim is that this is the most accurate Tiger kit ever on the market. This should look really good when I am finished.
This is the late variant Tiger I. The main difference is that these Tigers had steel roaddwheels, different cuppolas and hatches that had perisocopes built in, and slightly thicker turret armor.
Still need to figure out which vehicle I am building. Probably a Late Tiger from the 501, 502 or 503 Panzer Abteilung Group that saw action in June-August '44 in Normandy. There were about 50 of these vehicles in Normandy during the summer of '44 and they were legendary amongst the allies. In one famous battle 1 tiger tank knocked out 60 allied vehicles in Villers Bocage, before running out of gas.
