Future Floor Wax was sprayed over the entire turret to provide a high gloss finish for the decals. Through weathering and further red oxide paint, my plan is to make this test vehicle really used looking, much like the Russians could have found it sitting exposed out in the test field in central Germany.
In addition I decided to emphasis the prototype feel more by spraying red oxide primer in a perfect square so that the appearance of older turret numbers makes the tank seem less like a combat tank and more like a vehicle for the engineers to study. I will work some primer in with brush so these shapes appear more oganic.
Decals were out of the box and worked fine. Testor's Decal Set was used to help them adhere.
Had the thought of perhaps painting on some chalk marked engineering specs (measurements, part #'s etc.) to add to the prototype feel. We shall see.
